Game started, I'm posting the file down here. Let's use this system as much as we can.

BTW, I shouldn't have started the game. The de Lacy-de Bee family were not the protagonists.

    To John:

PS. A famous British Gral De Lacy fought in the Carlist Wars in Spain in the s.XIX There are currently streets in many Spanish cities dedicated to him. Knowing how 'traditional' are the English in the family lineages and all that , is it possibly this guy descended from the family depicted in the scenario? Almost 800 year distance!

COORECTTION - File is too long. I'm sending it by e-mail

      From "The Nevilles" a History

1140 was a key date in the history of this mighty clan. In January of that year, Richard Neville took over the family leadership, and was determined to overcome the chaos that was overwhelming England.
His first act as clan overlord was to Ally with Humphrey de Bohun, and join in that clan's war on the Scottish highland tribes. The gift of 100 pieces of gold may have played a part in this decision. What young Richard failed to realize was that the Scotts were allied with the mighty Plantegent family, and thus he had involved his clan in a much larger war than he at first thought.
With a view towards improving his strategic postion, he ordered the founding of the town of Grimscott, near the River Tees. The hope was that he could forge a coaltion to take Britain for his family...

Humphrey De Bohun, a product of the high medieval period, sought protection for his scattered domains by seeking alliances with and among the various factions in the upcoming wars. But his intentions remained opaque. Just what was going to be his course of action?

        Only time will tell.

                        From the Nevilles, a history.

By may of 1140, Richard's forces had been bloodied in the war with Scotland, but no stronghold was in danger of falling.

Barnard castle built a Market Place, as trade was again begining to appear in northern Europe...

I feel a little confuse about having so many cities spread around england, was it like that in real life?

I don´t know what is our goal so I´ll have to read the readme

The readme should help, but basically, you're an English Baron with lands scattered throughout the Kingdom.

The King's right to rule has been challenged by the Plantagenet family and you're not sure which side to go for.

You're loyal to the King at the moment but trying to extend your holdings at the expense of the other Barons (human players and Independents/Barbarians) so that you're strong enough to take on the King eventually and get yourself crowned.

DON'T let the Plantagents or anyone swap the Rebellion tech with you until you're ready to go head to head with King Stephen.

Earl Hugh Bigod takes up his pen again...

With the coming of Spring, the first news is the founding of the town of Haslingfield, just north of Shrewsbury. The wild Scots have sent an emmisary sueing for Peace. My liege the King is still officially at war with them, but I felt a slightly premature peace was easily justified by the rich gifts they bore for me. I shall try to persuade the King to do likewise. Unfortunately, Earl Robert de Lacy is rather more unfriendly. I hope this is not a sign of bad feeling to come.

Some of our Retainers have met their deaths in the New Forest, at the hand of lawless men. However, others have successfully put down similar bandits near the village of Cromer - on the north coast of our very own County. Much gold was recovered from their lair.

The same story was told by some of my valiant lads from Framlingham Castle, who have made a successful sortie against those who would defy the rightful King in the hamlets around Woodbridge. Many rebels were killed and their houses pillaged. The resultant gold has enabled my monks to concentrate on their researches, rather than on begging alms...The monks of Norwich have been particularly dedicated in their works.

                              Praise be to God!

From my own window here at Castle Rising, I can see my peasants toiling industriously in the fields and sheep pens. It is a sad sign of the times that I must send armed men out to protect them in their honest labours...
