Welcome to the New Modern NES. This is set in our current time of 2005. All nations are playable, if you want to take an uncontrolled nation, just tell me and I will create the stats for that nation.
Over view of Stats:
Population: just tells you how many people live in your nation. This also has a direct effect on how many men you can have in your army.
Economy: This is the total GDP of your nation. The higher it is the better off your economy is.
Economic growth: This is the rate at witch your GDP grows each turn.
Secret Services: This is your spy network. The better it is the more information you can gather on other nations. Also for despotic nations they serve as your secret police. The levels are:
Excellent, Great, Good, Moderate, Poor, Very Poor, None
Military: This is how many men are in all branches of your nation’s armed forces. This includes Navy, Army, and the Airforce.
Military Training: This tell you how good your military is. The levels are:
Highly trained, well trained, trained, Conscripts, and farmers (just a bunch of people with guns and no training what so ever).
Tax Rate: This is how much of your GDP you use for government expenses and projects. The more you tax, the less money there is fore people to spend and may or may not slow you economic growth.
Tech Level: This is how technologically advance your nation is. This affects everything from your military to your economy. High level you have the more advanced your military and economy are. The levels are:
Future Tech, Modern Age Tech, Aging Modern Tech, Industrial Age Tech, Middle Ages Tech, Stone Age Tech.
Government: This is just the type of government runs your nation.
You can increase the levels of any of these things, but it takes money, and you will have a limited amount of it. So spend it wisely because you can't do everything at once! If you try to do too many things at once you can damage your economy, go into debt, or worse. So be careful.
Each turn is a period of one year. Updates will occur once everyone has sent orders in and I have time to finish it.
