The story has begun. To participate, please follow these two rules:
1) Very important: When you're writing something, make a post that says "IN PROGRESS", then edit that post. This is to prevent plot branching.
Aftering posting "IN PROGRESS", check if anyone is coming before you. If yes, let him/her finish.
2) please post all comments, suggestions etc here:
This thread is for the story only.
Since this is the first story, we won't have role-playing yet - you can write about any character you like. But you are certainly encouraged to pick one character and focus on him/her.
(I myself am not going to begin the story with a character I'd like to follow. So yeah, look around for a while to find a character you like.)
Other than that, write anything you want.

A collaborative story, in which each person writes a paragraph (or two). In the story, each person focuses on one single character, writing mainly about that character's actions, thoughts, etc.
I found this idea on the Heavengames Off-topic Forum, and I don't think I've seen this on Apolyton before. The story goes on in two simultaneous threads:

Out of story discussion:
AND:
An archive of a few dozen such stories:
