  • Ancient Med maps - how to they work??

Anyone have a good Ancient Med map that I can use for a game over at CGN? The one at variant bank can't be colored since it is not uniformly colored to begin with, and even making it greyscale doesn't help

    Advice?

I don't clearly understand what you ask for ;-)

An ancient Mediterranean Sea map ? Or an ancient Medieval map ? Or is it something else ?

    How "ancient" ?

And which part of it, if applicable ?

I would like to be of any help, if ever I understood your requirement

      I do understand

Vincent Mous is the creator, right? I think you can go to his website and grab a black & white copy of the map...

        oh ok, thanks MDR.

VGR - I was referring to a variant called Ancient Mediterranean (Ancientmed9) with Rome Carthage Persia Egypt and Greece. The map is oddly colored and can't be edited in paint/photoshop easily (since you can't just floodfill the area that is occupied with the nation's color)

MDR - were you thinking of Classical? I think there is a difference.....I did a google search but couldn't find his 'home page' just Classical Diplomacy that he apparently created.

I just did some checking. There is an 'Ancient Mediterranean' variant by Don Hessong, which looks like the one you want. There is also a 'Classical' variant by Vincent Mous, which is a different take on roughly the same period. I could be wrong, I'm not into that period of history. Anyway, from the versions I've found, neither map would be editable the way you want. I think your best bet would be to grab Don Hessong's Ancient off the Diplomatic Pouch (www.diplom.org) and go about making it black & white.
