GM COMMENTS:
Another NMR this turn, but Italy manages to survive intact. Please don't do it again Taurus. As for the rest, a very interesting turn, with Germany and Austria reduced to 1 SC, and four powers looking strong and still growing steadily. It's difficult to call this stage.

POWER RANKINGS:
1) FRANCE: Difficult to call a leader between France and Russia, probably about equal. France is looking very strong on several fronts - the war on Germany goes well and should open up expansion into Italy and E.Europe. In the Med too, France is looking comfortable and could well gain most from the fall of Italy. Although Turkey has made it to the Adriatic and Ionian, he may be distracted by finishing off Austria and possibly an expanding Russia.
2) RUSSIA: Looking very strong too, Russia is expanding at a steady pace in both north and south. An initial agreement with Turkey looks to be growing shaky and this could either bring great rewards or tie Russia up in a messy war that would let the Western powers steal a march. In the north, the number of units needed to hold Scandinavia may be a drawback, while breaking through against Britain's naval power could be difficult.
3) TURKEY: A well-ordered expansion from the Sultan so far, with Austria almost finished and a commanding position in the Med. However, the Russian front could prove troublesome if the shooting starts.
4) BRITAIN: After a few stumbles against Russia and Germany, the tide seems to have turned and Britain is getting into gear. With Germany close to defeat and an apparently friendly France, Britain will be able to spare more resources in other areas. A lack of armies may be an impediment to further growth in Europe though.
5) ITALY: Going nowhere, nowhere to go. France is hungry and Italy can only hold out so long. With the near-defeat of Austria, Turkey may also join the feeding frenzy, surely the final nail in the coffin. You never know though, stranger things have happened...
6) AUSTRIA: Down to his last SC, there really is little hope for Austria. The only question that remains is will Vienna become Russian or Turkish and at what cost. Happy hunting.
7) GERMANY: Big Trouble In Little Germany. France and Britain baying for more blood - it doesn't look good buddy. Might as well start stocking the bunker....
DEADLINE:
Winter builds/disbands are due by Sunday 27 January at 2359GMT. No NMRs this time please!!
