I think a map is a service, not a requirement. The deadline should not depend on whether a map is provided or naot. Players have to keep track of unit positions themselfs. It´s nice if the GM helps, but not more then a friendly gesture.

I disagree. The GM should provide the map in order to substantiate the ruling of all player's orders. If he can not provide that service then he needs a fellow club member to step forward (THANK YOU EL!! ) and assist him in this task. The map provides an invaluable service to cross reference each player's submitted moves and see if they have been ruled correctly. We do not have the luxury of sitting down in front of a board. I will not point fingers, but I have been involved in a few games where multiple GM corrections have been pointed out by the players after the map became available. Therefore, it is not a luxury in online diplomacy, it is a necessity.
