  • World Masters Tournament Update

Here's a look at the latest standings for Round 1 + Round 2 of the World Masters 2000 Diplomacy Tournament. Fourty nine (49) players will advance to Round 3, and from there 7 players will be chosen for the final championship game. Scores from the first two rounds were cumulative for selecting third round players.

Sahib and I will be advancing to R3, hopefully not on the same table until the final

Apolyton sent two teams to the tournament, and since neither team was in the top 10 (or top 20) we were essentially out of the team competition after R1. Although Apolyton 1 sent four players to R2, and if we had all soloed, it might have been another story. Yes, yes, 'if ifs and buts were candy and nuts...' I don't know where our teams actually finished, and it unfortunately isn't high enough to bother with researching it. Still we made a much more respectable showing this time around. Thanks to Snowfire (I) and Boshko (II) for captaining the Apolyton sides through the team rounds.

What is best in life? Crush your enemy! See him driven before you. And to hear the lamentation of his women.

I´ll fininish with 92 in the end. Second in a draw with a good friend whom I could have stabbed but didn´t as he needed the board top to advance (sometimes it pays to make friends )

This just in: I survived my game. Still had 1 SC at the end. Due to good guessing about whether the Russkie woud vacate Denmark to guard Sweden.

Beats me what I got in the first game to add the 1 point to, though.
      All syllogisms have three parts.
Therefore this is not a syllogism.
