    GM COMMENTS:

Before I mention the deadlines I need to point out that VGR (Turkey) has informed me that he will be away until the 17th of September. Since this is looking a 3 1/2 weeks I have asked him to find a replacement. If I do not here from him, I woill appoint one for him until he returns. In general I don't mind brief extensions, but I realize people have vactions and lives outside of the Diplomacy hobby. Still extensions of such duration have a detrimental effect on the game dynamic, and I am not in favor of granting one for close to a month.

Summer 1906 retreats are due Wdnedsday August 29, 23:59 EST. Fall 1906 orders will be due Friday August 31, 23:59 EST (pending the resolution of Turkey's stand in replacement). Obviously we may need more time to both find a new player and to allow players to negotiate. I'll keep you updated.

    Please check for accuracy.

I think Gibsie would make an excellent stand in for VGR, and one that Vincent would approve of in his absence. I also think that we can trust Gibsie to do what's in Turkey's best interest. And he unit had been a Turkish janisary for sometime implying that there was a certain relationship between the two.

It's all a bit unorthodox (no pun intended), but in this situation it makes sense to me. VGR's apparently already away and cannot respond to this. I just got word of this yesterday, and I was away all weekend, so I awoke to the news. Anyway if no one elese objects (speak up if you do) Gibsie will be playing Turkey in VGR's absence. If there are objections, we'll deal with it from there.

Turkey's (auto) retreat to Albania was not overridden, so Albania it is. Orders are due tonight, people. I have one set in now. Six NMR's is sure gonna be ugly

        So, get 'em in.... NOW
