  • Newbie here guys!

    Hey all!
I'm a newbie. Yes, yes I am. I did get to play real diplomacy a quite a few times, but never did I play it online. I am seeking for a nice GM to host a nice standard Diplomacy game, in which I will be able to survive more than a few years, with all you pro's

In other words, I seek a game for newbies. For guys who don't play so well, so that I have a chance.

    Thanks! -Yoav.

Hey, I didn't know there are diplomacy games here.

      Cool!

Hello people. I'm also quite new to Diplomacy, so I'll be seeking newbie games as well.

One request though, could some one post an explanation on how do you actually play online? And where do you post all the messages that you have in private? E-mail?

      Would appreciate help.
      Thanks.

Sirotnikov: E-Mail works, as do private messages, though ICQ messages tend to be a more common form of communication. The same for actually submitting your moves to the GM.

As for exclusively newbie games, I rather doubt a new one of those will come along, but it isn't much of a problem if you join any other game starting up. Recently quite a few games that had been stalled are being seriously considered to be abandoned, so I expect there to be several new games popping up soon. In fact, if any of you are open on the 4th or 5th of January, a live-ICQ match might be held one of those days, with FTF style "negotiate now and get your moves in in 15 minutes" play.
        All syllogisms have three parts.
Therefore this is not a syllogism.

            well, well, you newbies ....

I would be willing to GM a newbie game. On two conditions:

            - you get 7 people together for a standard game.

            - no NMRs. An no means no, zero, or I´ll have you roasted for breakfast

            OK, who´s in?

            Yoav
            Sirotnikov
            anyone else?

                    Oh yeah!!

I only exist because the guy at the keyboard is a moron and put in the wrong email when he changed it so he created me because my older brother (the original NB) is locked now...

                      What's an MNR?

And also: please make each turn al least five days long because I would need time (I'm a very busy person you know )

I think you mean "NMR." It means:

                        NO MOVES RECEIVED

It's when you don't turn in your homework. GMs' get mad at you, games get held up, and all the nations' plans get screwed up. In short, don't ever NMR.

If you do set the turn time for a week or so, players will probably have enough time to send their orders.
If someone is off, or has osme connection problem or so - or from any other reason - sends no orders - his orders are counted as all STAY.

Let's agree on some other technical rules, just in case some of us have some weird versions in mind (I only know the old original version)

There's still a couple spots left in Civ Dip.... We could use a few more players.
