Story Thread idea...

Spain, Holland, Sweden, Denmark, Russia, Naples, and the Ottoman Empire all had ships of the line as well.

Spain had nearly as many as France, Holland had at least 25, Sweden and Denmark both had around 15-20, Russia had 10-20, Naples had maybe 5, and the Ottomans had maybe 10...

Most nations by this time did have a standing professional force of some kind...

And I know Prussia did NOT have 195,000 troops in her army in 1756... It was a feat for Frederick II to have 80,000 troops in his whole army less than five years earlier!

I am up for going to a forum, if everyone else wants to!

We'll start the thread here at Apolyton, and then move to the UBB forums when their finished...

Wait, that's before the Seven Year's War right Scott? We're starting after right? And Britain is really that small? Does that include Scots, Welsh, and Irish? And Britain's colonies? I didn't think that the Netherlands would have a bigger population than Britain...

Some of Scott's forces stats are off... I have no clue about the population though...Britian had way more than 1.5 million though... they had somewhere around 8 million... (that is from a History 201 lecture)

Populations statistics should be fairly accurate. Though with Russia, it is really hard to tell and the stats could be off by a million or more in either direction.
