Today Emperor Akihito appeared with the new Shogun, Aido Yomitsu. The new Diet will be put into action. Shogun Yomitsu in a speech today called for a militarization move. The Emperor and a large part fo the populous does not object. However some veterans of WWII and parts of the elderly remain suspicious. With massive industry located in Japan we have the ability to militarize quickly. However the Emperor has been quick to point out we don't want to end up like the Japan under his father.

BD, the alliance offer is on hold for now becuase you really pissed me off, and the Italian people for that matter, when you brought France into this. You know I was willing to give up Greece after some negotiation, but no, you had to go and drag France in, making me give up Saxony and Corsica. That pisses me off royally.

France has 1 carreir (Foch) that can hold 35-40 planes and 1 carrier (Charles De Gaul) that can hold 40 and is undergoing trials. The plan was to replace the Foch with the De Gaul since the Foch was built in 1963. Spain has one carrier that can hold 37 aircraft. So since France has sold two carriers we can assume he only has the Charles De Gual left. That plus a heli cruiser that can hold 8 helicopters are the extent of his naval air wing.

Sorry for an OOC post but I must come to the aid of Japan. Japan has an auto industry, which in combination with the know how is all you need to make tanks. Japan has a very good shipbuilding industry (they have twice as many merchants and over 2 million more GRT than the US merchant marine} which along with know how is all you need to build a navy. They have an aerospace industry (a space program even for christ sake) which along with know how is all you need to build an airforce. So he can either research it or ask someone for it, but as soon as he gets know how he can start cranking out military units.

Japan's military is small due to treaty restrictions from WWII. Since the US no longer exists I think the treaty is probably null and void.

OOC: Tupi classes are extremely outdated subs, and you don't even have enough to outnumber me. Also, a nation can't be taken from third world status in one year, it will take several years to get you up in the charts.
