  • "Newbie" Dip, Spring 1901

Everyone got their orders in on time.

Some of you left it until the last day however, remember it's always a good idea to hand in provisional orders in case of unexpected problems close to the deadline. Anyway, here we go...

    Austria (Oerdin):
    A Budapest - Serbia
    F Trieste - Albania
    A Vienna - Galicia (*Bounce*)

    England (Frozzy):
    F Edinburgh - North Sea
    A Liverpool - Yorkshire
F London - English Channel (*Bounce*)

    France (foolish_icarus):
F Brest - English Channel (*Bounce*)
    A Marseilles - Spain
    A Paris - Picardy

    Germany (civman2000):
    A Berlin - Kiel
    F Kiel - Denmark
    A Munich - Ruhr

    Italy (chegitz):
    F Naples - Tyrrhenian Sea
    A Rome Hold
    A Venice - Piedmont

    Russia (laurentius):
    A Moscow - St Petersburg
F Sevastopol - Black Sea (*Bounce*)
    F St Petersburg(sc) - Gulf of Bothnia
    A Warsaw - Galicia (*Bounce*)

    Turkey (- Groucho -):
F Ankara - Black Sea (*Bounce*)
    A Constantinople - Bulgaria
    A Smyrna - Armenia

There are no retreats for Summer 1901, so the deadline for Fall 1901 orders is Thursday, midnight EST. I'll adjudicate the following morning. I'm moving back to Uni on Sunday so I'd like to get Winter 1901 out of the way by then, so please bear that in mind.

Wouldn't it be better to keep the entire game in one thread instead of opening a new thread for each move?

To my knowledge every single game on here has opened a new thread for each season's orders. I'm just going from precedent.

Personally I think shiny new threads make things easier to follow. Posts and orders get lost in big threads...

Consider it this way, Oerdin. In one big thread, if you see a new post, you don't know if it's a random press babble you can safely ignore for a bit, or the new turn. If you make a new thread each time, it's highly obvious when a new turn comes out.

Of course, if the adjudicator uses email notification as well, then that argument is a lot weaker. But not all GMs have used email notification in the past, so the tradition started.
          All syllogisms have three parts.
Therefore this is not a syllogism.

The deadline has passed, and I am missing one set of orders. That person has been informed by email and by private message; as this is his "first offence" he has 24 hours grace period before I look for a replacement.

Okay, it seems there was a problem with e-mails; not sure whether this was at my end or the player in questions end, but I have everyone's orders now and will adjudicate.

so, when are we going to see the actual Fall 1901 moves?
