ADC 69 Donner Dip - Ready to Start - Winter 1869

This game will be played on the Colonial Map as a 'gunboat' (no press) game. Please observe the gunboat, and do not discuss this game with anyone until after it is completely over. The (solo) victory contiditon for Donner Dip is possession of 24 supply centers at the end of any post-retreats fall turn.

Seven great nations await the call to glory and fame! Good luck to all!

The starting (current) map can be found at:

The first turn is Spring 1870. Orders will be due promptly on Donnerstag (Thursday), October 3, 2002 at 23:59 PM EST. Please have them in on time!

The Colonial map/variant has a couple of rules unique to it. They are the Trans-Siberial Railraod, and the Suez Canal. A quick summary follows.

The Trans-Siberian Railroad (TSR) allows Russian army units to move along any part of it as if they were adjacent territories (example: Moscow - Vladivostok). However the path must be clear of enemy units, or the ordered TSR move must receive adequate support like any other move to succeed. If blocked at any point the so-ordered unit advances to the last allowable territory (example: if the above move is blocked or defeated in Irkutsk by another unit, the TSR unit stops in Krasnoyarsk). The TSR may only be used by Russia units regardless or territory ownership. The TSR may not be destroyed by any nation.

The Suez Canal allows for the pasage of fleets between the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea WITHOUT a stop in Egypt if the following conditions are met: 1) Egypt must be occupied by a unit (army or fleet) of the same nationality of the fleet requesting passage; or 2) Egypt must be occupied by a nation authorizing permission of said passage, which is accomplished by a written order of "Suez Canal" or "SC" submitted with the movement orders for the turn in question (example: Chinese A Egypt SC Dutch F Mediterranean Sea - Red Sea). If the unit in Egypt is a fleet, it may also support the canal move, in which case no extra permission order is required. Additionally a unit in Egypt may support the actions independent of the canal move (example: Chinese F Egypt supports Japanese A Syria - hold; and SC Dutch F Mediterranean Sea - Red Sea).

If you have any questions throughout the game please e-mail them to me, and do NOT post on the game thread or discuss the rules with other players. Thanks and let's get going.
