  • ADCT01 Game C, Fall 1903 Moves

In today's political economic news, Russia's stock went down by 2 while England and Italy each saw an increase of 1. Analysts are have turned pessimistic after the rosy around-the-board growth of 1901; it seems that the economy will grow no more, and any gains by one will be at the expense of another.

Meanwhile, Italian sailors are braving the frigid waters of the North Atlantic in their attempt to conquer the Faroe Islands. "The British have left their most important possession virtually unguarded. Victory shall be ours!" proclaimed one leader of the expedition. The Italian Empire is expected to have grown by over 100 citizens with this new acquisition.

Retreats are due now; post them in this thread Chazzy. Although frankly they shouldn't matter too much. I assumed a retreat to Ukraine although again it doesn't really matter, retreating OTB is pretty much the same as disbanding it in winter.

For that matter, since I only need them from 3 people, builds are due now, too. Get them in ASAP. You can condition them on Russia's retreats of course.

    Power Ranking:
    1. England- Still the most powerful nation with the weakest enemies. On the other hand, the Italian raiders off the shores might be even more fierce than the Viking raiders of old.

    2. Italy- Shows that with persistence and patience you can achieve a far-flung empire with few resources. Huge potential for growth, but on the downside, nobody's guarding the home waters.

    3. France- France hasn't been expanding much lately, but seems reasonably safe, a chance loss of Brest or Portugal in the future to Italy aside. We'll be seeing France for awhile yet.

    4. Austria- Perhaps Austria has made too many enemies too fast? The Italian stab will slow things down a good bit, Russia has never been a country you can conquer fast, and the only way to hammer at Turkey would be to give up all chance of a counter strike on Italy in the Ionian. On the other hand an Austro-French alliance against Italy, if played correctly, could clear things up in the west quickly, giving time to focus on the east later.

    5. Turkey- Turkey seems like it can survive holed up in the homeland for a good bit longer. Most likely the Russian army in Syria will soon be a bother no longer, and the Austrians are probably too distracted to finish the job. Probably.

    6. Russia- Ouch! Hit from all sides. And StP will most likely fall soon, too. On the bright side, a Russo-Italian-Turkish alliance might be able to shake an SC or two back from Austria next year, as well. If such an alliance comes to pass, of course.

    7. Germany- It's not that Germany's doing badly; it's just that instead of the chaos of the East, where anybody might come out ahead, Germany is stuck between the two large Western powers, England and France, who are not going to fall over and die anytime soon. Will Germany ever conquer an SC again?
