  • San Andreas Diplomacy: Spring 1901 Earthquake!

And so it begins. The seven powers of Europe have converged upon this place and have already begun forging on the smithy of their prowess the uncreated shape of tomorrow's Europe. They alone will decide who will live, who will die, whose fleets will become stranded, whose armies will drown, which coasts disappear, which borders become submerged, until everyone but one has been smitten down.

    Austria (Midshipman)
Venice and Trieste separate, Tyrolia and Adriatic Sea connect

    England (Ruffhaus)
Kiel and Holland separate, Helgoland Bight and Ruhr connect

    France (Napoleon)
Ruhr and Belgium separate, Holland and Burgundy connect

    Germany (SnowFire)
Gulf of Bothina and Baltic Sea separate, Livonia and Sweden connect

    Italy (Defiant)
Greece and Serbia separate, Albania and Bulgaria connect (invalid)

    Russia (Victor Galis)
Sevastopol and Black Sea separate, Rumania and Armenia connect

    Turkey (Polaris)
Greece and Albania separate, Serbia and Ionian Sea connect (invalid)

    Map: http://www.geocities.com/lordstone1/...as/seq1901.gif

    Notes:
Turkey and Italy's orders were declared invalid because the successive application of either order after either order would have the effect of splitting Albania or Serbia in two.

Sweden now has two coasts - sc and ec.

So, what do you think of the map? I sure worked hard on this. In retrospect, I guess I could have made the Lowlands less weird-looking by simply moving the entire Ruhr northwards such that the inlet of the Helgoland Bight doesn't look so freaky. What I try to do here is to preserve the shape of coastlines as much as possible (as you can see with the Black Sea zone as well as keep existing geographical features (such as I did with Sweden's fjords). I guess there's really no way to make this map look natural precisely because it isn't. At least I believe I handled the Tyrolia situation very well, moving Venice and Trieste's SC's southward BUT keeping them on the coastline as they're supposed to.

If Sweden was a home center, I would have definitely moved the SC (Stockholm) south so that it borders on the Baltic Sea. But you know, this is only the beginning. By Winter 1902, this map will be unrecognizable. Good. Just try not to confuse me too much or give me impossible orders like separating Norway from Sweden and connecting Skaggerak to Finland!

Don't worry no such orders will be given, but I can not guarantee that the Danube will not become navigable (Bul and Rum separate, Black Sea and Serbia connect :-))

Ok, it's the Rhine. Excuse my geography, I always get the Elbe and Rhine mixed up.

Wow, I'm impressed. Nice map, seems like you've put a lot of work into it. I'm definitely gonna keep my eye on this game, it looks interesting...

I really should have ordered that this turn... I could have supported the Turk into Serbia that way... that would have been fun F Ser :-)
