SPAIN GIVES ULTIMATUM TO PORTUGAL
MADRID (Agencia Noticias Español) - Today the Spanish government issued an ultimatum to the government of Portugal. The Portuguese government is accused of aiding and abetting the ETA terrorist organisation. Prime Minister Diaz met with Portuguese ambassador to Madrid, Joao Bira to discuss the ultimatum. Bira and his staff denied that the Portuguese government had anything to with the terrorist attacks. However Spanish Intelligence has uncovered proof that the Portuguese embassy and conuslates were used as checkpoints to smuggle the weapons and money into Spain. PM Diaz left the embassy after two hours, and reported that nothing had been negotiated. Spain has thus issued an ultimatum to Portugal.
The Portuguese government would stop funneling weapons and money to the ETA, the Portuguese government will pay reperations to the Spanish government and families who lost loved ones and property in the attack, and Portugal would allow Spanish Intelligence to search through government files to investigate any further evidence. No reply has yet been recieved from the Portuguese government.
