  • The Best of Apolyton's Story Threads

I always hate the introductory sentence.

I'm currently working on a project to re-HTMLize and archive those story threads which I feel are good, important or just... good. Hrm. What the point of this is is to see whether or not anyone cares aboot this or not. So I'll put a list of those threads I am doing now, and will let people voice their opinions as to which should stay, which should go and which should be added. Well then, on with it.

-Suriname II: Superpower or nation of toads?
    -Suriname III: The Saga Continues
-Suriname IV: The Green Army Series
    -Suriname V: Fire and Shadow
    -Suriname VI: The New Age
    -Suriname VII: The Final Days
    -Suriname VIII: The New Legacy
    -Apolyton Bar
    -Apolyton Nightclub
    -Apolyton Steel Mill
    -Apolytown Crackhouse
    -Civ Wars: The Prequel
    -Civ Wars: Audentior Strikes Back
    -Earth 3000 (the first revival)
    -From Sea to Shining Sea
    -Granite Hills High
    -both Master of Orion threads
    -Ming & Rah's Excellent Adventure
-Monk & Sir David's Excellent Adventure
    -Out of One, Many!
    -Star Trek: The Apolytonic Episodes
    -Story Thread Humor
    -The Global Senate
    -The Gospel According to Dracon
    -The Great World Car Race
    -The NIMology
    -The Pokemon Restaurant
    -The Seventh Seal
    -all three Utopia Projects
    -The Worst Story Thread Ever
    -Today's World (pending)
    -The World 1999 (pending)
-Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (pending)

Nobody suggest the Big Huge War, either. Dank je.

Edit: To clarify things, the "pending" threads are the ones I have yet to track down.

I'd just like to point oot right now that these threads must still exist. Obvious, I know, but it deserves saying.

      All right then.

With BT's suggestions you've got pretty much all of them, except I'd like to suggest From Sea to Shining Sea and the revival which were great...
The establishment of a Hebrew government and the implementation of its plans - this is the sole way of rescuing our people, salvaging our existence and our honor. We will follow this path, for there is no other. We will fight! Every Jew in our homeland will fight!

Hey, btw, I'm surprised that Granite Hills High is there. It was rather shortlived, but it had a very good premise.

BTW, I think this is the first time I have ever been quoted in a signature! Thanks!!

You have Ming and Rahs excellent adventure and Sir David and Monks adventure and NOT Imran and YYYH's adventure??? Come on! Imran and YYYH started the whole adventure thing!
Lo there do I see my father
Lo there do I see my mother
and my sisters and my brothers
Lo there do I see the line of my people
                      back to the begining
Lo they do call to me
They bid me take my place among them

                        Coug:

Actually, I'm pretty doubtful that any copies of YYYH & Imran's Excellent Adventure still exist. I was hanging around back then, yeah, but of course I never had the foresight to save it. It's the same situation with the first Suriname thread. If anyone can find them, I'll more than willingly put it up there.

Of course, you'll have to contend with Imran, Starchild and all that other rabble who claim the original Excellent Adventure is sacred scripture or whatever and should be silenced so the newbies have nothing but passed-down half-remembrances of it.

And LordStone1, I put in Granite Hills High because it was an interesting premise and a deviation from the norm of "I am ultra-hyper-mega-powerful extremely unlikely conglomeration of nations that actually hate each other. I send one million Ninja Laser Killer Rocket Warriors to Country B's capital. Country B is no more." But more than anything, this was the line that instantly sold me to it:

"You do not have a nuclear arsenal nor the blind loyalty of millions."

I, for one, am glad to see Seventh Seal up there... I feel that my posting in Seventh Seal was some of the best writing I ever did... I also still share Starchild's dream of turning it into a novella, if I ever have the time to compile it from the archive...
