  • Open community letter, 2nd issue

    Hi, StP fanatics!

It's time for a new letter to the Stella Polaris community.

During the past month there hasn't been so much activity, but especially since the closure of FreeAC Forums. This of course isn't that positive news, but the good news is that the project will carry on and survive, despite of a certain level of hibernation.

So what's the real news now?

We had the official launch of our new Internet services, the new beta version of Map Builder and after all quite much chatter here, even if there has many passive days in the past. However things will improve as the interest towards Stella Polaris will grow over the time. This will be ensured by the rumor of a new TBS game, PR campaigns and visible results of the development work like Map Builder.

The rumor will spread as time passes and we become more popular. The PR issues are currently under work and I would expect some results later in December.

The development work is continuing and the gossip aroung Alpha 1 is continuing. I would like to clear up a few issues related to Alpha 1. First of all there's a delay now due to Blake's university studies, but that won't prevent the release of Alpha 1. When will we see it? Only God knows. Well, my personal estimate is sometime in December, but that's uncofirmed and a date will be established as I get to know more. I want to underline that Alpha 1 is the first alpha version of the StP client, not the server, so the version numbers are different (most likely), but they're still the same game and releases. So what we are going to see is the first alpha version ever released of the StP client. Regarding the alpha testing, I'll get back to that later as I have discussed the issue with Blake and Keygen, so instructions and information about it will be provided later when we approach the release.

I have spoken to several SPDT members, so I can confirm that Keb and Gowyn are still aboard. Although I have no news about Djolley, z0id and Impaler, but assumably their situation will be cleared up during this week.

I also welcome all our "newbies" that have been integrated into the team after the launch of StP on ACS; Redbull, DBTS, Keygen and Mark, Disparat. Do enjoy the development work.

Regarding the nearby future, I recommend that you just stay tuned to the forum and check out any suspicious looking e-mail or PM messages.

    Have a great winter season!

    Regards,
    Rasbelin

Not much to add to Keygen. That's answered a lot of my questions regarding StP with the lack of activity in late October-Early November. However, I hope I'm rest assured in feeling that a lot of work is going on behind the scenes, as this theory has been proved correct in the past

        Thanks for the feedback!

Well, there's something going to be kicked off today, but otherwise there's work going on in the background. That's assured. But where's the on-stage work such as graphics?

Well... first I need something to do

I have some marshy terrain, ready to chop change and clatter, but as of yet, I have had nothing to do

Once you get me the resized logos, everything should be fine.
