I wanna play a scenario about the Vikings, but there are several of them out there to choose from. Which one is the best?

Well to be honest, "Vikings - Across the Ocean" which was reviewed recently by St. Leo is from Mathias (Hendrik the Great) I have no special Vikings scn...

You can dl Hendrik´s here: http://www.civ2.gamigo.de/szen_mit.html

Don´t worry about the site being in German, the scn is in English. Scroll down a bit and look out for "Vikings" by Mathias Köster, then click on the "eye" icon in that line, a pop up window will open. The icons to the downloads (four files, ca. 2,4 mb together) are at the end of this window

Sorry, I meant Cross-Cresent which is not really a Viking scn, but is rather a late dark ages scn. I haven't played Mathias', but I've played Alex's and I wouldn't recommend it unless early struggles between tribes of Vikings in Scandinavia is your bag. Harlan's is still very good, has a European focus and a good theme: the Vikings could conquer pretty much anywhere, but didn't have the technology or military structure to hold what they took. Unfortunately, it also has Magyars, so that kind of spoils it.

Well, theres "Age of the Vikings" by Joel André, it's not bad.

Another unusal scenario is called "The far north", the only civs are Vikings, and the world is Scandania and Iceland, and a part of the Americas.
I don't remember who made this, there is no Readme in my copy.

Either one would provide an alternative to the two fine scenarios already mentioned.

OK, I'll go with Hendrik's scen.

Don't let Harlan hear you say that. He's half Hungarian.

I must commend Hendrik on an excellent scenario! Playing as the Norwegians, I just started part 2 a few turns ago. I've long since united Norway and the Swedish side of the peninsula. I have colonies on Iceland and Greenland and I recently sacked Dublin. The scenario isn't that easy to conquer, at least from Norway's perspective. My cities have had a difficult time growing in the harsh northland climate and I haven't been able to amass hoards of bloodthirsty nordic invaders. But overall, I'm impressed that after 100 turns the setting is still rather historically accurate.

And the review was written by El Leon, no St. Leo.
Similar, but St. Leo is a great mighty scenario league overlord and I am just a lowly pawn of scenario making.
