Does anyone know which flag the Tzar of Muscovy Russia used back in the 1650's and if so could someone make a flag icon for me?

I do not know but I do know of someone who may help you. Ask it to the good guys at the Russian Civ site. I do not have the link handy but you can find it in the links section of my site http://spanish.apolyton.net

The best place to look for any sort of flags is the Flags of the World site, which can be reached at fotw.vexillum.com. From information found here, it appears that the earliest Russian flag that can be found dates from c.1690, and is the white-blue-red combo that is used today. It's likely that Ivan the Great and Ivan the Terrible used simple, Tatar-style banners rather than flags. There is also a flag for the city of Moscow, which you may want to use - it depicts St. George, horseback, on a field of red.
