It seems that there exists a file called 'delevent.exe' on some CD's, unfortunately not on mine 'Ultimate Civilization Classic Collection' (not that ultimate). Please, can anyone send it to me? My email is paul_hl@hotmail.com.

Alternatively, you can open your saved game with a hex-editor, search for "EVNT" and delete everything from there (including the evnt itself).
That's exactly the same the file does.
