  • The Skeleton's Closet

I was searching through my harddrive yesterday getting ready to copy over all my stuff from the old comp to my new one (arrived yesterday, wheee ) and I found a crapload of finished scenarios I made but never released (circa 1997 thru 1999).

I'm considering zipping them up and posting them on a website or something for download. But i'd only do so if anyone is interested in actually playing (and giving some feedback) on them.

    Here's a list of what I found;

    Missile Command
Part of a set of scenarios I was designing based on old Arcade classics like Bugs, Tempest, AstroSmash, etc.. Basically you take one of three powers on a future remote planet and battle over it's hostile terrain utilising missiles as a major component of warfare. A neat little trick was that global warming by pollution actually improved the terrain value.

    Byzantium
An OLD scenario I made about the fall of Constantinople.

    Chess 3D
A 3D game of chess. Play either black or white kingdoms or the rouge checkers. Quite fun actually.

    When Worlds Collide
My trip on Powerman 5000 inspired this scenario. Pluto and Charon fall out of orbit and collide with the Earth leaving behind a mixture of alien and earthling life whilst civilisation builds anew.

    Hyborian Age of Conan
Based off the old comic books by the same name. Written in like 97.

    Doomed
A full set of DOOM units created by me freehand. (This was before anyone told me somebody already ripped them). Set on Earth, the US' Secret War in Laos turns out to be the opening of a gateway to Hell. And you know what happens.

    Gummi Bears
Ok, shaddup, I was *counts fingers* 17 when I wrote this, bored and still not over watching cartoons. It's fun if you like quest-based scens.

    War of Honduras
A fictional war in 2000 Central America.

    War of Mauritius
Following the ilk of third world war scens, this one is a fictional Mauritian scenario.

    Heaven versus Hell
A cool scenario I made which turned out (to my surprise) a lot like GSquid's Starsiege scenarios. Fun but nothing close to what Blackclove was planning.

    Risorgimento - Reunification of Italy
This was an awesome scenario I finished and loaded onto disk, turns out the disk was corrupt and I lost half the scen. It should still work for the most part.

    Cretaceous Park
My own take on Jurassic Park. As human forces, liberate the island from the dinosaurs. As dinosaurs, people tase good. As rouge Saurians, kick em both the hell out.

    Super Mario Land
A complete set of (comicy) units I created based on the GameBoy story and version of Super Mario Bros. The only Super Mario scen I know of...

    Neptune
Based on a book where the big spots on Neptune turn out to be land masses. Big war on waterworld.

    October Revolution
The largest scenario i've ever made on the huge map from the Mongols scenario. Also very accurate even if most of the graphics are recycled. This scen was a lot of fun but never released due to techumseh and others releasing similar scens.

    Screamers
Unless you've seen the movie, you'll have no clue. Distant planet, post-apocalypse, sentient robots underground. Kinda cool.

    Solar System
A war in the solar system. Basically very similar to GSquid's Starsiege scenarios.

    The Sun
Before I actually studied it and realised it could never happen, this scen is about the future colonisation and terraforming of the Sun. I made a really good lava graphics for this scen.

If anyone is interested in actually playing some of these, post here so I know and i'll zip them up and put them on a website or somethin. I just don't wanna waste the time if noone is gonna play them...

Some of them sound interesting. I would play a few if you zipped them up.

        Yeah, go ahead Warvoid.

BTW Cavalcadeus, how come you've got a custom avatar when you're only a warlord? I thought you needed minimum 500 posts for one of those.

The limit for a cutom avatar used to be 300(?) posts. For some strange reason they increased it to 500 6 months ago...

They did it especially to annoy me, I assume. *turns face up to sky* Bring back the 300 post limit, Apolyton forum people!

But seriously, how did you get one, Cavalcadeus? You have but 125 posts to your name.

Awhile ago you could get a custom avatar if you were registered for more then a year. I got mine back then and have not changed it since. But if I did change it I would be stuck with the generic ones.

Fair enough. I wonder why they keep changing the requirements?

Make sure you grab the 'OLD' Byzantium scenario for me.

I don't know. It probably takes up a lot of server space to store all the avatars, so the higher the requirements the smaller amount of space is used to store them. I might be able to change mine within 5 years at the rate I post.
