The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.
25 themes/skins/styles are now available to members. Check the select drop-down at the bottom-left of each page.
Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
How possible/feasible is it to have different types of city building than the four set out in the game, Neolithic monument, Roman Forum, Far East Pavilion, and Medieval castle?
Has some one of our more skilled members done something on that yet, and if so, where could I find it?
I think what Jim means is "Is is possible to have extra city styles other than those already included in the game", ie. the four he already mentioned plus ones like, say a Plains Indians city style, or an Inca style city. Basically, to have more than 6 different city styles in one scenario (including Industrial and Modern).
I don`t think so, but ask around, because I don`t know everything.

"Paul Hanson, you should give Gibraltar back to the Spanish" - Paiktis, dramatically over-estimating my influence in diplomatic circles.
To change the existing city types, you simply edit the appropriate part of the CITIES.GIF file. To add more city types, you will need to convince MicroProse to give you the source code for Civ 2, figure out what parts you need to modify, and compile your own version of Civ 2

Interestingly enough, Mark, the "W" in my name stands for "Wagner."
But to the topic; I am a nearly computer-literate writer-type person. I am very unskilled with graphics, and was sort of hoping someone out there had other city formats available. I know of one person who has a whole list of unit-icons, but I don't know whether or not he also does the cities.
There are MANY alternate city graphics available, some of them are excellent! They range from improved versions of the originals to completely different cities of all styles. I suggest "All Cities" compiled by Harlan Thompson as a starting point, you can get it here:
Soon there will be yet another set - I am working on version 2.0 of my HiRes graphics patch, which will feature all new terrain and city graphics.

Tim Smith

If you are doing a scenario & industrialization isn't required, give it as a special technology to the civs that you want to give the new city graphic w/pre-reqs of no & no, so it can't get traded & hit the no on the acquire techs from conquest option. Put your city graphic you desire in the industrialized city graphic slot & there you have it. It works.
