  • Medieval ships sought!

As said, I'm looking for medieval ships for my latest scenario. The time-period is about 1200 until 1450 AD situated in south-east europe. I'm especially looking for venetian, byzantine and ottoman ships commonly used in that time.
I'd be very glad if somebody could give my a hint on where to find good pictures for such ships or even tell me if there already are units like this and where to find them.

    Thanks in advance!

I have some good scans. These are only shadows, but they are very exact, so that you can perfectly make units after them. Mail me if you want them.

Check out War of the Roses at Civilization Scenario Collection. My drawn Earl Ships should prove useful, and also fit exactly into that time period.

Now I have good pictures of ships of that time. However they are all black and white, not that they wouldn't be of help they help a lot, but I would need color pictures so I can get the coloring right.
I would really appreciate if someone could tell me where to find color pictures.

Alex the Magnificent's site has several first rate medieval ships, in colour.

I have already thought about using his ships. However I found out that, with one exception, do not fit both the right time and place.

I'm making new ones at the moment working on b/w images I got from Stefan Härtel. The colors I take from a single color image I found on the net. Unfortunatly it does depict the Battle of Lepanto in 1570. That is about a 120 years after my scenario ends.
But it's the best I've got.

              I still appreciate your suggestion.
