  • God Bless America

I am posting this on all of the other forums, as well, so that it will be seen by as many people as possible.

Yesterday, an act of terrorism, greater than ever before in the history of war, was committed against the American people and the free world. Thousands dead, many more wounded, and the image of a smoky haze resting over where the World Trade Center used to dominate the Manhattan skyline. The image of the Pentagon, center of the most powerful military in the world, with a blackened, charred hole. This atrocity forces us to realize that we live in a world set on deity with barbarian hordes, where enemies can appear out of thin air and wreak terrible destruction. Only together we are strong. These forums have people from all over the world. I ask that you support us as one, as in the remarkable show of unity in the United States Congress yesterday. I ask especially the support of those we have supported. In World War II: Britain, France, Russia, China. In the Cold War: South Korea. And the ones we have always stood by from their beginnings: the Israelis. Help us together, Catholic and Protestant, Asian and European, Communist and Democratic, Republican and Democrat, House and Senate. We shall stand as one, and destroy the terrorist menace such that it can never rise again in a million years, and condemn what it did. United, we shall prevail. God bless America. God bless us all.

    Signed,
    Alex Godofsky

    *cough* Dresden
    *cough* Hiroshima
    *cough* Nagasaki

I don't want to underplay the awfulness of what has happened, but the above 3 incidents each killed more people then the recent terrorist attacks (I hope ), and all of them were explicitly aimed at terrorising nations into surrender.
