  • Rate my Scenarios

Before releasing any further scenarios, I have decided to let the people rate my recent works. The scenarios I would like you to rate are all available at http://members.xoom.com/SHaertel/Scenarios.html
You don't need to play the whole things through (I guess), but please take time to play a couple of turns and answer following questions:

    1. Which of my scenarios do you like best?
    2. Which of my scenarios do you like least?
    3. Which scenario style do you like best?
    4. Which scenario style do you like least?
    5. Which topic do you like best? (Please name only one title)
    6. Which topic do you like least? (Please name only one title)
    7. How would you rate my overall work:
    Excellent
    Good
    Fair
    Poor
    Terrible
    (Please be honest)
I will not write my own opinion here because I'm not neutral, and I do not want to influence anyone's opinions in any ways.
Please, since I drew up the questions myself, there's no way to offend or insult me. Please be honest in your answers.
And please take time to answer at least some questions!
    Thanx.

        Stefan:

All your scenarios show excellent attention to detail -the quality and thought put into them shows. I have all of your scenarios, and although I have not played any of them through yet (big time factor), you can be sure that I will I am in the process of collecting the best scenarios off the web. Many of your scenarios are true classics.

I would rate them as excellent overall - please keep up the great effort you have shown.

          Hi

          1. Which of my scenarios do you like best?
          Mughals

          2. Which of my scenarios do you like least?
          Crusades?

          3. Which scenario style do you like best?
          3d Punic War?

          4. Which scenario style do you like least?
          Crusades?

          5. Which topic do you like best?
Crusades (the topic) I like very much,
but if the question is what should be the topic
of the next scn, I would love to see you making
          a scenario about late non-islamic Persia, f.e.
Byzantine-Persian war of Chosroes II and the
fall of Sasanids. Well, I wanted to make a scenario
about that from byzantine side, but probably never will,
          so...
          Or maybe Carthago?

          6. Which topic do you like least? (Please name only one title)
          Very early Persia.
It was a great scenario, though.

          7. How would you rate my overall work:
          Excellent

          (Please be honest)

          I'm not voicing it loud...

Some of you[r] recent scenarios suffer from the John Ellis syndrome.

Hmm... just curious... what is exactly the John Ellis syndrome?

I think what is meant is; a very large number of units and cities but often not with a terribly involved events file. Some people like that type of game, while others don't. John put together some huge campaign scenarios in Civ2's "early days" which usually included some outstanding artwork.

Most of your scenarios are very good. I didn't like the Holy Wars that much. But for the rest it is just too hard to decide.

Don't be so unpolite with John Ellis' stuff, dude... I think Stefan really likes to do a lot of research before starting a scenario making; the same as me... Often that kind of scen are a result of that great research work ( look at my Antigonos )...

BTW all of your scenarios are great, Stefan: i begun to play your Shaibani yesterday, it's simply amazing for perfection!!! It's nearly impossible to say what's or isn't good of them... Maybe just Holy Wars, but that's all IMHO...

Prometeus: Yes, I do a lot of research for my scenarios. As a matter of fact, that is the most fun part!
