  • NEW SCENARIO: Early Rome

Hello again, everyone. This is Giant Squid (I took advantage of the nickname change). I apologize for not making a new scenario in a LONG time...I was kind of busy. However, I've managed to finish one. This is Early Rome, which is about Rome's conquest of Italy. It hasn't really been thorougly playtested yet, but I invite everyone to check it out. Get it at:

Oh, be quiet about the page. I'm only allowed to use the computer a short time per day and I spent most of it finishing up this scenario. I'll make it look alright later.

PS: I had one little problem. I can't seem to change the Turn Year Increment. I want each turn to be 3 years, but when I put "3" in, it still makes it go 25 years. That IS a bug, so don't complain to me about it.

aah, I like the city icons. Do you mind if I use some of them, if I ever get around to making my early rome scenario?

It's not a bug, you just have to overwrite the default turn settings, otherwise Civ2 won't recognize it. You should also refer to this older post... As I already stated there, problems with the default turn settings will occur if the scenario is loaded in different difficulty levels - for example, your scn will turn to the year 2850 BC (in chieftain) after the next turn is finished...

Try additionally setting the starting year to -755, the maximum amount if turns to 219, which can be changed in the scenario paramters window.
Then pressing ALT+F4 and set the turn value from 71 to 1.

As I said in the Readme, none of them are mine. Rome and Carthage come from Simon de Bree's "Hannibal", the unused Minor Tribes come from Allard Hofelt's "African War", and the ones with the pink roof (I think I used it on the Sabines) come from BeBro's "Kreug and Halmond" or something.

Oh, and thanks a lot, SCDARS.

Despite the "preview" , I think this scn is fun to play!

                          But why isn´t a pedia.txt included?

                            Yay! You like it!

And because I forgot. Sorry. I always forget that. But of course, I'll say it's because I wanted all the new features to be a surprise.
