  • Editing terrain and special resources

    thanks to the help I've found on this wonderful site, I've been playing around with editing units lately and it's been a lot of fun. now, I want to change some of the terrain/special resources...not so much the terrain, but I'd like to have some different resources such as olives/olive oil, and cotton. I've played some scenarios that included different resources, but I haven't tried changing any. I've seen lots of exceptional military units in this forum, but was wondering if anyone has some ideas for changing resources or some examples. I assume it's possible to change the available trade goods too?

    Yes, it's possible. In Rules.txt you can change the name of the commodities altering this text

    where you can edit the production (shields, trade, food) of all the kinds of terrain and special. For the graphics of the terrains, you should edit the terrain.gif files, as you can see in many scens

    BTW, mods, I believe this thread is more for the main scenario creation forum than for the "hint,tips and guides" subforum... or am I wrong?
