  • Svea Rike - The tale of a nation

Some of you might find this post very similiar to one at civfanatics. Suprise! It's the same thread :P I'm posting it here too, to get more feedback.

Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the official thread of.. *fanfare*

'Svea Rike - The tale of a nation' will be an MGE scenario about Sweden's journey from a minor country to a major power and back again. It covers almost three centuries of Swedish history.
In this thread, we will keep you informed about the progress.
As we speak, all cities needed for the scenario has been placed on a large map covering the north-east of Europe.

We need graphics artists, anyone willing to help?

Questions about the scenario can be asked here, any people willing to test play the coming beta-versions can sign up in this thread.

That's all for now, you'll hear from me.

    Yours
    Rebellion!

Here's a link to the first thread about the scenario at Civfanatics, where my idea is described..

Hi. A normal Swedish guy with a great interest of history (especially Swedish war history) and - of course (otherwise I wouldn't be here) - Civilization II. That's me. "Svea Rike". Nowadays known as "Kungariket Sverige" or - in English - "The kingdom of Sweden". "Svea Rike" is also a...

So your thinking of units from Gustavus Adolphus' reign to Peter the Great of Russia? I did some Northern Wars Swedes, Russians and Danish from the latter period but they need some work to make them respectable.

There are reasons why I believe mankind should live in cities and let nature reclaim all the villages with the exception of a few we keep on display as horrific reminders of rural life.-Starchild

Can't answer that right now, but it will be much longer than the original civ2 game. But this is many scenarios in one, and the game will be full of interesting events and challenging missions, so you won't get bored. An early beta-version covering the first hundered years of the complete scenario will soon be finished. If you wan't to play it, sign up as a playtester.

fairline: Yeah, I've seen them and they are great. We will probably use them.
