  • Diary of a Scenario Designer

    May 9th,

Ok, I'm getting things started today on my next scenario dealing with the Korean war. I fired up my old scenario, and by chance the graphics from stalingrad happen to be in my MGE main directory. I like what I see. I think I've got my rice paddy graphics! I think I'm going to have to re-do my map of korea though, as it is lacking in the size I want.

Now I need to decide on a name. I'm leaning towards "Rice and Steel." Maybe some others have better suggestions?

What about something related to the 38 Parallel?

    'Figth on the 38th Parallel'

'Of Live and Death in the 38th Parallel'

Glad to see you're getting started

Here are a few name suggestions:

      1) Korean Front

      2) MacArthur's Challenge: The Korean War

      3) From Pusan to the Yalu: The Korean War

      4) Beyond the 38th Parallel

What list of units will you need?

      Best of luck

I don't know, but I have always been partial to "Fire and Ice: the forgotten War". It is what I was going to call mine. But I don't think I will ever have the drive to finish it.

p.s. If you need anything just ask and I will help in any way I can.

"Korean Front" would neatly add some fine Nemo-esqe tradition to the scenario!

How about M*A*S*H 4077. Heh, instead of fighting, the game can be about rescuing injured soldiers.

              Diary closed?

No more updates? I was really looking forward to this, as I never know what order to go in when creating scenarios.

(What comes after the map and placing cities? Tech tree, units?)

                  "Not another WWII scenario"

Seriously, how about "The Forgotten War" (isn't that Harlan's WWII China scenario though?) or the "Fire and Ice: The Forgotten War" suggestion.

While you're at it might as well make a "Korean War II" scenario set in the present day.
