  • I also think Kalingrad should be Kaliningrad, and I also prefer the real names for cities (for example Köln instead of Cologne and Milano instead of Milan etc) but that is your choice.

Not a typo, the 'coming to the fore' means standing up for battle in this context...

I also noticed the Panther tank has a NATO shield, and not a German. Was this intended and have the Germans shared this technology with their NATO Allies, because their other panzer has a German shield.
The Soviets do not keep all those carriers for long, believe me!

The attrition of battle is heavy...so balance will be met fairly quickly...
Most of the action happens on land anyway...

The Panther has the Nato shield for the same reason as the Sherman and Centurion, they are all Nato shared units...

              • I am thinking of giving the Chinese a tank...

                Perhaps using Fairline/Anzac's valentine...
Guys, (if you are there) is it cool to use it?

It will be of the same power as the centurion/sherman...

As an alternate, I still like the idea of giving the Chinese a worker unit...
                A combat engineer type...

                Any opinions, folks?

                • I like the combat engineer unit more, it gives them something the others don't have. On the other hand, they should have a tank. Isn't it possible to give them the Sherman or something else to leave the slot for a combat engineer?

PS You are right with the city names, one can not please everybody( plus if I want I can change them in my version of soviet steel )

I think I'm right in saying that the Chinese were equipped with Russian tanks until they fell out in the '60s (?), so they were probably using a combination of T-34s, JS3s and later T-54/T-55s

                      • But in this case, it's the Nationalists and not the Communists running China, so these Chinese will likely be using NATO tanks.

The Nationalists did get equipment from Soviet.

                          Like the T-26, T-28 and T-34 tanks

                          • Yeah, but towards the end, when they were deliberately smashing the Communists they were using primarily US equipment.

IDEA!!! How about an event that gives the Chinese tanks, planes, and/or artillery for destroying such? Granted it couldn't be every unit, but maybe some KV-85s, Yaks, and 250 mm Arty...?

                            • @Iron Chancellor:

                              Interesting!
A sherman for every Warpac infantry killed.
And a Kv85 for every Nato infantry killed.
Sadly my limit of events has been reached!
I curse MGE's limited events system!

I'll have a think over it...

I still like the idea of the Chinese having their own home-brewed tank.
I'll admit that I could replace any of the NATO tanks, but I love them all too much.

                              What situation I am in!
                              Being a 'major' power,
I think China deserves more than one measly infantry UU, don't you?

                              @Figu
I'm hoping the new version will be the final...
I have followed Paul, fairline and Iron's advice to the letter and the whole thing does work well.

It is almost time for this thing to roll out of the hangar!

                              • Glad to hear it. The latest version you've sent out is a great improvement over the first; conquering Russia is an uphill struggle for Europe now rather than a walk in the park (on the first beta, I was banging on the gates of Moscow by mid-1951).
"Paul Hanson, you should give Gibraltar back to the Spanish" - Paiktis, dramatically over-estimating my influence in diplomatic circles.
