      WOW!!!

Now thats a proper theme for a scenario!
"Military training has three purposes: 1)To save ourselves from becoming subjects to others, 2)to win for our own city a possition of leadership, exercised for the benefit of others and 3)to exercise the rule of a master over those who deserve to be treated as slaves."-Aristotle, The Politics, Book VII

All those who want to die, follow me!
Last words of Emperor Constantine XII Palaiologos, before charging the Turkish hordes, on the 29th of May 1453AD.

Judging from the Apache helicopter from the attack on thrace screenshot i would say this is a modern hypothetical Graico-Turkish war.

If you need any info on the Greek and Turkish armed forces(numbers, possitions, equipment, etc.) just let me know. And the Cypriot ones, too.

Be sure to include the Turkish naval base in Albania, built there just to force the Greek fleet to divide. I think the base is at Dyrrachium but will have to check on that.

The Turkish naval base is in Avlona(Vlore or something).

It is actually an albanian military installation built with Turkish money.

Actual Turkish naval presence has not been confirmed yet, but it is rumoured that in wartime a turkish naval squadron will make its appearance in the Ionian sea.

And may i ask what are those Hovercrafts doing in Thrace?

The Turks posses none, relying on their Blackhawk hellicopters for transportation while Greece, has just bought four of them, 2 Russian and 2 Ukrainian.

Is the scenario going to take place at a future date?

If so be sure to include all the equipment ordered but not yet delivered(Greek Leopard 2A6 etc.).
Again if you need those, just ask.

Wouldn't that be a little suicidal without air superiority in that region?

Who says the will lack air superiority? The Turks outnumber theGreek airforce by a 2,1:1 ratio. We simply do not have enough planes to protect everyting.

And anyway the whole point is to cause the almighty Hellenic navy to divide its forces.

                    Wow, what an interest...

Yes, I did devide Nikosia in two by use of hex-editing. Originally I also wanted to make a 3rd Nikosia owned by the UN, but that would make things too crowdy, and useless anyway.

And yes, those border units are not mine, but Alex', I believe. I think I stole them from his (excellent) Russian Civil War scenario.

The scenario is indeed a modern-day hypothetical Graeco-Turkish War, inprobable as it might be at this instant. I have always been interested in the military aspect of the Greece-Turkish disliking, and this seemed like a nice idea.

Of course, historical reality has still to be taken into consideration, meaning that such a war, that might erupt, will never last than at most two weeks, due to international (and internal) pressure. For this reason, and this is more or less 'taken over' from RiverWar, there is a narrow time-limit of about two weeks in which the whole scenario happens.

But two weeks is still a lot of time...

Are both Greece and Turkey playable?
Not Turkey, nor the Turkish Airforce, and also not the UN. All other nations are to be played, Greece, Greek Airforce, Cyprus and Cypriot AF. In fact, they are all to be played by the same player in hot-seat mode.

If you need any info on the Greek and Turkish armed forces(numbers, possitions, equipment, etc.) just let me know. And the Cypriot ones, too.
Thanks. I can always use more info, even though the web has lots of interesting info about these subjects, and analyses of this kind of hypothetical wars.

The Turkish naval base in Albania I didn't know about. Very interesting, this might give a new front to the scenario and make Turkish numbers seem more important again over sea-power.

And may i ask what are those Hovercrafts doing in Thrace?
They are just for the picture. I placed some units in a nice spot for a nice picture. In fact, I will probably delete hovercrafts in the scen, I think.

Is the scenario going to take place at a future date?

If so be sure to include all the equipment ordered but not yet delivered(Greek Leopard 2A6 etc.).
Again if you need those, just ask.
It's supposed to take place at this very instant. So, all equipment not yet delivered as well as all equipment that will not be ready within a few weeks (such as the 209 subs), will probably also not be included (with some exceptions).

And anyway the whole point is to cause the almight Hellenic navy to divide its forces.
Yes, yes, the almighty Turks are also not stupid... That's why this scenario is going to be very very hard..
