The NEW 1.2 patch is ready to go, you'll need to download #1 and #2 again if you already have the all files downloaded. This means you too St. Leo

You need not worry about #3 if you are simply updating your copy... it is just the manual. Although it did change, it is not 100% essential to gameplay.

    ***Changes From Version 1.1***
    1. Daimyo is now MUCH harder to bribe (cost is ~15000 koku now vs ~150 before).
    2. Adjusted events revolving around the 'Anybody' wildcard value. All players can now get 2nd tier techs.
    3. Paradigm Units now only require 2nd tier prerequisite to be researched (vs. 3rd tier before).
    4. New sounds for cavalry and musketeers.
    5. New Unit: Imperial Guard (These protect the imperial province of Yamashiro).
    6. Added a new wonder to the Imperial Province Yamashiro--Imperial City (Copernicus' Observatory).
    7. Removed Samurai Archer II from Uesegi research. They still start cities building Samurai Archer II, though.
    8. More manual eratta corrected.
    9. Some Game.txt eratta corrected

Ok... in the next patch I'll correct a glaring spelling error in one of the clan names.

Second time Apolyton loses my post in hyperspace

Aaaanyway, here is the short version of what the TWO frigging previous posts said.

            1. I love the scenario and it is going on my all-time favorites list. Has me really engrossed. It is highly replayable in my book.

            2. Spelling errors. "General Reaserch" tech instead of "Research." "Bhudist" improvements instead of "Buddhist."

            3. Tech too fast. Even with the Mori and no commerce, I had researched all techs even before I took the imperial city. A higher tech paradigm would provide incentive for trade, taking the city and the portuguese arrival race.

            4. The odious Oda bribe alot of units at the beginning. Is this intentional?

            5. The game ambienation is so superb, that seeing "oil," "uranium" and "wine" on the trade commodity list really sticks out.
II. 193 And fight them until there is no more tumult and oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah; but if they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression.

Thanks for the suggestions... I'll definately have to add those to the list of about 30 things to do

              On your points:

I was surprised myself at how well it turned out. I enjoy it and I'm glad you enjoy it too.

              #2
That happens. I'll catch it in the next patch.

              #3
I could slow it down a little...

              #4
I have absolutely no idea how they are able to bribe units... They have no units with the spy role. It must have something to do with the zero cost units. This only happens with the AI. I guess it makes them harder to beat?

              #5
hehe I'll be sure to fix that

thanks for the feedback. I really do appreciate it.

after taking a look at the scenario i guess that first is an empire building scenario and afterwards a war-out one. But it doesn´t look like there are lots of techs to investigate

                can you help me?

The manual contains a lot of information on the units and the built-in civilopedia contains what each unit requires. If it's not totally clear in the manual I'll explain it here:

Almost all tier one technologies (Cav Archers I, etc.) can be researched directly.

To get access to tier two technologies (Yari Ashigaru II, Samurai Archers II, etc.) you need to defeat the first tier in battle. For example you slay an enemy Yari Ashigaru I, that would (in theory) give you access to the technology to research the second tier technology.

                  Note two things:
                  1. You have to have the first tier to research the second tier--if there is a first tier technology.
                  2. It does happen that you may not be able to acquire the 'defeat' technology from defeating a tier one technology. This is a glitch in MGE and I've tried to use the events space to my best to fix it. For example, if you kill a Yari Ashigaru I but don't get the Yari Ashigaru I defeat tech, somebody else has killed a Yari Ashigaru I from that clan before you. The only way you can get it is if you are the first to kill a yari ashigaru I from a particular clan. Otherwise you don't.

Now tier three technologies and units work the same way with one catch:

The first clan/player to kill a tier two unit is the only one that will have access to the death technology and therefore the third tier unit. So it's to your advantage to pick fights with people who have tier two units on the chance that you'll be the first to slay that particular tier two unit and thus have access to the third tier.

Hope this clears things up. Wish I had a couple megabytes for the events, then I could really clean up the mess that the lack of a working Anybody flag creates...

But the scenario itself is not necessarily empire-building at the start. A good deal of conquest can be done with simply the Daimyo unit while you build up the empire (however I wouldn't recommend this in a PBEM as human players will find ways to catch and kill your Daimyo--which could mean the end of you).

Hey one more thing from my front. Seems like either the maintain costs are too low (except for the castle)

The odious Oda end up with 40,000+ Koku, and towards the middle of the game I have a hard time even spending the thousands of Koku I have.

                            More challenge on this front?

                            Still playing and replaying.

Ok I'll have a look at maintainence.

Here's a question: Do you guys build Yari Samurai as opposed to Samurai Archers? Do you have a mix? Do you go straight Samurai Archers?

I guess it depends on what level of each I have, but I would go for archers mostly.
II. 193 And fight them until there is no more tumult and oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah; but if they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression.
