  • How to change terrains >10 on maps?

Take one redfront scenario which has approx 15 terrains, but only the first approx 10 can be placed on the map.

How can I change the ones that I cannot select. Ideally I would like to randomise the placement of special terrain enhancements to make the game different. ie the iron resource on mountains.

    Help!

    Someone must know, please help

I can confirm that civ2 has 12 accessable slots to change terrain in the editor but if the scenario has more how do you change the ones that you cannot select in the change terrain at cursor option.

Is there also a way to randomise special resources. ie iron on mountains etc

I don't think that you can. Red Front has the normal number of terrain types - Nemo was just very creative in using them

Only in the map editor. I don't think that you can re-randomise resources in on going games and scenarios

        Thanks

I see how it was done now, as you said you need to use the Map editor to create/modify the map first.

I can randomise the resources by selecting a different resource seed #.

Actually you can. Take the raw Red Front map, open it up in the Map Editor, use different Resource Seed settings until you find the one you like, and then save the map. Now use Dusty's MapCopy utility and copy the entire map into a Red Front saved game. Voila.

Jorritt's MapEditor may have the same feature, but I can't speak to that.
