  • Map Requests/Scenario Ideas

Since I'm a Mac-only scenario designer, I figured it would be a good idea to give out the scenario idea along with the map request, in case any of you PC designers would like a shot at it.

The Map: Italy, without surrounding areas.
The Concept: Renaissance Italy, 1454. Who will master all of Italy? The large, but backwards, Kingdom of Naples? The armies of the Pope? The master traders of Venice? The mighty Dukes of Milan? The Medicis of Florence? The proud Republicans of Genoa? Or someone else? Include lots of Renaissance events, like the discovery that the Donation of Constantine is fake, the building of the Florence Cathedral, the sale of indulgences, the brief ecclesiastical dictatorship of Florence by Savonarolla...

    The Map: Modern Turkey.
The Concept: 1920, and the Ottoman Empire is gone. The Greeks have secured a foothold around Izmir, and the Kurds and Armenians have established states. And the newly-formed Soviet Union looks on. The stage is set for Kemal Ataturk, who would re-unite his country and bring it into the 20th century. Featuring the Greco-Turkish War, the expansion of the Soviets into Georgia and Armenia, the Allies' claims to Turkish territory...

If you like it, pick it up and run!

EchoPapa-Are you looking for Maps of Italy-without surrounding areas-and a Map of Turkey-or large Map of Middle-East?
If so-I have got what you want...tell me what you think of the maps...
The Destruction of the Ottoman Empire looks like a scenario I'd like to create-being Armenian...but unfortunately I am really busy creating numerous Roman-'Byzantine' scenarios for Civ II gamers.

I make scenarios for MAC and PC, a PC user will be able to use your scenario as long as you do the opposite changes that we do to play PC scenarios whit the text/graphic files.
I am going to release my upcomming scenario for mac and pc.
I don't see why you couldn't do the scenarios for both platforms.

Ideas for the Ottoman scenario, I have mailed you so far...but about the Greeks, I think Greece should be included, at least the Aegean region, just to give them a fair footing and to make them worthy oponents, otherwise the scenario would be a walk over for the Turks...and what kind of flag design will the allies have?
          Or the Georgians and Kurds?
There are some Flag specialist sites on the web-maybe they will have the answer.

"The only way to get rid of the Armenian Question is to get rid of the Armenians" words from the last Ottoman Sultan shortly beofre the Armenian Genocide 1915.

I've tried to make one of my scenarios run on a PC, but it hasn't worked. If you go to the Database and look for "AHD", that's my "A House Divided" scenario. Apparently, it doesn't run on a PC, although I made the changes. If you want, you can download it and take a look.

The Turkish map doesn't need the Middle East, just modern-day Turkey. As for Italy, I only need modern Italy plus bits of the Dalmatian coast. I'll look at Matthias' map when I get the chance.

A little more info for the Ottoman scenario...

Mustapha Kemal was not a member of the Young Turk movement, he always was a staunch Imperialist-he had fought in Libya against the Italian invasion of 1913.
After his death though, he was re-invented as a right-wing nationalist figure and idolised with the name-Ataturk (Protector of Turks).

So for the scenario it is advisaable to have one civ representing the Turks, based in central Anatolia with Ankara as their capitol.

Constantinople will be an allied occupied city with a Ottoman Sultan unit as a hostage within it.

Allies also have Lycia, Cilicia, Cyprus, Syria and Iraq as far as the map for the scenario goes.

The space available for the Russians, would only allow the city of Maikop to play the role as capitol for them.

A large map will enhance the sense of strategy play giving more space for movement.

Map of Anatolia during the implementation of the Treaty of Sevres.
Sorry about the poor graphic representation, it is an old map.

More information on the Treaty <./a>
