  • A Question

Hi, I'm back! (Not that anyone noticed me leaving )

Anyway, I have an enquiry for you more experienced designers to answer.

Will an improvement function properley even if the civ possesing it doesn't have the prereqresuite advance? eg. Will a granary in Rome work if the Romans don't have pottery?

    Thanks in advance.

    It vaires.

    Some will, some won't.

I think that there's a scenario guide somewhere that lists all of the improvements that require a civ to have a specific tech before they will function.

    Granaries--need the pottery tech

    Cathedrals--need monotheism

    Temples--need ceremonial burial

Hydro plants, recycling centers, and mass transits don't, AFAIK, require the techs to function, but the techs that provide them, by themselves will make things cleaner.

I'm pretty sure granaries will work without Pottery. At least that's what's happened while I've been working on Red Storm.

Thanks for the doc. I can do what I intended without problems.

            Re: Temples

Temples also require mysticism (along with C.B.) to function fully. Each advance makes 1 more citizen content.
