  • How to create a scenario without the 2 utilities

    I want to create a scenario with the 'updated' version 2.78. I made a nice map, but how to create (enemy)cities in it, and how to change the name of the civilizations? I can't edit them with the cheat and edit menu in Civ2.

    Many changes can made directly in the RULES-file. Use an editor (like Notepad) to change techs, improvements or units there. You can also edit the civs there, but, be careful with ANY changes (MAKE BACKUPS).
    In the same way, You can change the city names in the CITY-textfile, and many things in the files GAME, PEDIA and LABELS.

      Creating Cities - Use 'Create Unit' to place settlers where you want them to found cities. Start as the white tribe, place your cities, edit them, add units, etc.... but don't end the turn. Switch human player to the green tribe and do the same. Continue onward - saving your scenario frequently in case you do make an error.

      Changing Name - Done using the Edit King > Edit Name.

      I hope this sets you on the right course. There are a few variations to this approach, but it should suffice. Troubles? Sing out.

        Thanks a lot. But how do I give a city more food(storage)?

          I'm not sure precisely what you're after, however I hope one of the following help;

          (1.) Food storage in a city is improved (doubled) by giving the city a granary or giving one city in the empire The Pyramids wonder of the world.

          (2.) You can change the population of a city by right-clicking over the city, Cheat > Edit City > Change Size.

          (3.) You can't (to the best of my knowledge) manually set the number of wheat bales in the food box as you can with shields in the production box - this must be done by allowing the game to progress a turn or two - although you can create irrigation within the city radius and then remove it once the desired level of growth has taken place.

              For play purposes, refer to the thread : apolyton.net/forums/Forum3/HTML/001034.html

              For scenario creation purposes, Cheat > Edit King > (Tribe 'A') > Edit Treaties > (Tribe 'B').
