  • AI and one Civ unit only questions.

    Just two or three questions...

    1. In MGE, is there ANY way to tone down the computer's hostility toward other computers and human opponents? It's a real pain when you're trying to make a scenario with "allies to the bitter end" when they keep declaring war on each other.

    2. How does one make civilization-specific units?

    3. Does anyone know of a decent WWII scenario that isn't any bigger than the one that comes with the game, and has more civ-appropriate AIs? I can't count the number of times the Allies and Axis decided to ally up and declare war on the Russians.

    1. The most commonly accepted way of dealing with this is to set up the game so the two tribes in question are 'Allied', and through the events file the tribes are not premitted to speak due to the creation of a pair of 'negotiation' commands - see 'macro.txt' which should(?) be with your game. An example is the renowned 'Alba America' scenario available at the Spanish Civ2 Site which is hosted by Apolyton - spanish.apolyton.net .

    2. See sleague.apolyton.net/Guides/sldt_tech_tree_one.shtml (n.b. 'Test of Time' handles this differently).

    3. See apolyton.net/forums/Forum18/HTML/000626.html for some varied views.
