Actually, DD . . .
I have heard of the scenario you mentioned, but never played it, IIRC. The Imperialism scenario that I've played most (and modified heavily, though w/the original designer's permission) is the Imperialism 1884v7, by Mattias Pitz. It was done back in the good old days, and so lacks some of the refinements of later scenarios, but I've enjoyed it many times, nevertheless.
The problem that I've always had with Imperialism scenarios is that they always seem to take place in too small an arena. Truthfully, Imperialism 1870 is a compromise solution. In an ideal world, I would have an even larger map. And 255 cities is not nearly enough. I had to leave out at least two dozen cities that I would have liked to place. Additionally, I could have used a few more unit slots as well. The worst problem is the infuriating limit of only 7 civs and barbarians. Time and time again, I've dismissed ideas for scenarios because I felt it couldn't be done to my satisfaction with only 7 civs. I'll explain my rationale for assigning the various civs their spheres in the readme file when I put it together, however.
Btw, only the splash graphic and the events file remain to be completed. Once these are done, the first playtest copies will go out.Lost in America.

The News . . .
Everything is done, the playtest version is ready to go, except for one thing; the events file. My Swedish friend is on that right now, so as soon as he sends the completed file to me, I'll start sending out the scenario to the posters in this thread.
I'll be testing the thing too, probably playing it almost non-stop for the next few weeks until I make sure that it's come out just the way I want it. While a pbem game between all you guys is cool, those things tend to move kinda slow. I'll ask the playtesters to start a few solo games in an effort to spot any loose ends or stupid mistakes . . . as well as run your pbem game.

Ok . . .
You can find The Modern Age on the Spanish Civ2 site run by Jesus Balsinde and Dracula of Transylvania on the Civfanatics site. The former was my first real solo effort at scenario-building and the latter was an impulsive self-referenced joke that might nevertheless be playable if you're in the mood for a short game on a small map. There was 1 other scenario that I designed, a fantasy/medieval thing, (and it is complete and does work), that was actually a test of scenario ideas more than anything else. Don't think I've ever posted that one though. IIRC, it's called Aesgaard. I started work on two others, a Solomons campaign WWII, and a Saxon Conquest of England, but these two remain uncompleted so far.
I think that's all.Lost in America.
