• GeoCities is Smoking Something

    Dear GeoCities Member,

Your web site, http://www.geocities.com/st-leo seems to have been receiving a large amount of traffic. Our records indicate that you're using more than the allotted amount of data transfer we provide for a free web site, which is 3 gigabytes per month (measured on an hourly basis).

Right, the site that I haven't updated since 1998 is drawing in 3 gigabytes worth of traffic a month. Anyways, feel free to check out my 1998 scenarios and laugh.

Since your site is so important, maybe a denial of service attack was launched against you.

Is it currently the first link that comes up when people enter 'Britney Spears nude' into Yahoo?

I tried it. I uploaded a 10.7M avi clip to my page and it halted me for an hour. Then I downloaded it it halted me again. According to their calculation, you get 3giga per month on an hourly basis, which is 3,000mega divided by (30*24), which is12.g mega per hour.

Maybe the same programmers who coded the CIV II treasury routines are working for Geocities now.

them to remain on our servers, they will work at
