I don't understand why English did not capture those African cities. I sent a freighter there and easily occupied 3
empty cities. (Duh, I was hoping to get some free units but couldn't find a German to do suicide attack). In the
eastern front I did not make much progress -- my units need time to recover from the European battles.

Have the units, then have the cities

        NO!

Xin, you stay with the damn Soviets. I don't need you controlling more than 1 Civ. Geez guys. It's plenty interesting enough as I have it now.

What is this? Start a PBEM... uh oh, things are tough... call in the Xin Yuvian Cavarly!?!?! In that vain, Xin, do you want to play as the Japanese and see if you can destroy yourself? I mean why doesnt Xin post a PBEM playing as all the Civs? I have my hands full already... its 3 on 1 at this point. Just leave the Chinese to the AI please.

While waiting for superior weapons, The Soviet Siberian veterans cleared out 3 Japanese strongholds. However, the Japanese outpost located at the top of the hills proved to be too tough to kill. A good news is, the Soviet T-34 tanks are in production, while Katsusha Rocket Launchers and IL-2 bombers are scheduled to be in production the next month. Soviet Yak fighters will not be available until May 1942, but with the tough armor of the T-34 Japanese bombers are not a threat at all except that they can block our red army's advancing route.

Well I am glad I still have Tokyo!

Xin, what exactly is your experience with this production changing phenomenon? I know for an absolute fact that i used control-N on this last turn of mine. I mean c'mon, it was like the turn of all turns for me. I used more caution here than carter has pills. BUT, as I get this save here... The AI had gone and switched production in the majority of my cities! Units have not been moved, but the 20 or so light tanks I was counting on for my turn have all been switched to AA guns!!! I think this sounds like what you were talking about earlier, but have you ever seen it to this degree? You only captured 3 cities from me, so I would expect the 3 nearest cities to have had their production changed or something along those lines. I don't know. It is pretty much over now, as I have no real options left. I can defend till the cows come home with my troops, but capacity for offensives is nil. And with the Soviets comming next turn with all their tasty T-34's Katyushas and IL-2's, I'm not sure what I can do.

I'd like to hear your thoughts about this AI switching production on such a massive scale. You may suggest that I didn't Cntrl-N properly, but I swear to you, with all certainty, that I did so.

I thought I got the idea, but apparently not.

Have you put two land units in each city? Could you give me the names of those cities which changed production?

I have an idea for fixing it temporarily -- we work out a list of each civ's favorate units, then in rules.txt change their AI roles to defense, while changing other units' AI roles to attack. It may not work for air and naval units but putting enough land defense units inside the city could prevent the AI to switch.

Okay, checked with a few files... Pretty much all the cities on the Asian continent had production changes. Vladivostok actually changed from a fully rush-built light tank... to a superbattleship. Another thing that is odd, is that it seems that only one shield of production was added to the cities. For instance, back in Vladivostok...if I switch from the Superbattleship back to a light tank... it is a full light tank +1 shield. Same for other chinese cities which had rushbuilt light tanks in them. Harbin, for instance had 3/4 of an AA being built. Now, even with the city's 45 shield production, it seems to only have accumulated one shield between turns. They didn't seemed to have a problem with 1 or two units per city as some of the small islands down south had only one infantry... and successfuly produced their rushbuilt Zeros. This is odd though. If I play my turn, I can destroy a few of those temp cities you made, but we can just go back and forth blocking ech other with AA/Bomber stacks. What do you want to do here?

So the algorithm for changing production is still a secret. We'll have to wait for my program to work. Until then, let's keep on moving.

I'm accumulating engineers. I may suddenly build an RR to the heart of China and use my T-34s to blow everything away. Be prepared.

Please be patient fellas, as this is finals time for me and I am in the thick of it. But, I will be graduating after this semester!!! Thank god! I am very much at my wit's end with being in school. Just for your info, I will be recieving my Bachelor's of Arts (I think?) with a major in Sociology and a minor in History.

A few more days is all I'll need. These turns are long and very important at this stage.
