Thanks FMK! That looks pretty bloody good
I must say that I'm worried that there's no edit graphic button...
(you do appear to be able to cycle through the graphics though ).
Stefan, I'm with you on the animations
Anyway I'm waiting for a SLeaguer to buy Civ 3 and give us the complete lowdown on the editing tools *hint* *hint* (I've got to wait to the 18th till it comes out in Australia )'Arguing with anonymous strangers on the internet is a sucker's game because they almost always turn out to be - or to be indistinguishable from - self-righteous sixteen year olds possessing infinite amounts of free time.'

Now what would be fun would be to give the F-15 to a barbarian chieftain.
As far as graphics, here's an optimistic guess. One could edit a graphics file as one did afore in civ2. Well, FMK will find out for us, and I'll do so myself tommorow. Well, after homework, gotta conjugate those verbs...

FMK in regard to your paradroping sea units again i do believe reading somewhere that helicopters can load units and then "paradrop" so you want paradropping air units just make a helicoptorMaps, Maps, MORE MAPS!!!!

I *think* I read somewhere that the anims are 3D studio max files (but it's unconfirmed as I forgot which thread) -but it does seem like the pinkish "flat" units are in as an option, quite likely in an editable graphics file, like Dan Magaha previously has said they would. I suppose Civ3 will use this file, when the player turns in-game animations off.The Slim End Of The Long Tail -

*3 days for some dumbkoff in charge of the warehouse to remember that there is a W.A.
*half a day to get around the usual Labour Union issues associated with shipping anything anywhere by any method
*two days to send it across country by slow train
*half a day for the guy at the local EB to remember that I want civ3
*another half a day for someone to ring me about it - just because they're completely sick of me by now
*10 minutes to get from where I work to the local EB (er boss, I'm just taking a trip to see a, er, client about, er. the watchamacallitthingumybob )
*2 minutes to actually purchase (woohooo!!! /Imran mode off )
*about 3 hours to get to hospital as most of the ER's are closed at the moment - [I was run over by a truck as I came out of the store, eyes totally fixated on my copy of civ3 and unable to interpret my surroundings]
*10 days in traction in a full-body cast, only able to gaze longingly at my still wrapped (I was saving that until I got home) copy of civ3, going slowly mad as my prize is so near yet so far...
(sigh)
And thats my November. How about everybody else?
So now its December I'm assuming there will at least be some scenarios out (and also assuming that nobody has swiped my PC during my lengthy hospitalization period). So where are they!

In following all of such related threads all day, I am left to wonder what and how Firaxis defines "scenario". It's one thing to create new maps and units and wonders and etc., but what happens when you save it and play it? Without events, what happens or how would you know if anything happens if you can't display a message resulting from an action?
