I'd recomend Masis's scenarios on the Roman Empire.'Arguing with anonymous strangers on the internet is a sucker's game because they almost always turn out to be - or to be indistinguishable from - self-righteous sixteen year olds possessing infinite amounts of free time.'

Alex Mor's scenario 'Spartacus' is generally considered to be very good (personally, I've never been able to get into it ). I'm not sure where its currently advailable Try Civfanatics.'Arguing with anonymous strangers on the internet is a sucker's game because they almost always turn out to be - or to be indistinguishable from - self-righteous sixteen year olds possessing infinite amounts of free time.'

Rome 280bc on the SL site is pretty good, too. It is more or less a vast improvement over the default Rome scenario that comes with CivII.The first President of the first Apolyton Democracy Game (CivII, that is)
