Thank you, Mercator, for informing me of the faulty link. I have fixed the problem now, and the link works well now.
Also, I agree that the scale of the islands extending from southeast Asia is a bit off in the second map, and I didn't notice it until you'd mentioned it.
As for the starting locations, I placed those in a bit of a hurry. I use different Civs than the originals and forgot until just before I posted that I needed to change them.
I will probably modify an existing North America map for the giga-version, as it is much faster to do and produces very similar results.
