Wow, these ToT units look great! Have you made them, Eyn?

          hmm... not really

i've gone to a 1/76 and 1/32 plastic toy soldiers miniatures site
          and i copy/paste/soften/reduce it !

Eyn, may I put these units on the Cradle of Civilization?

I find that the best results are obtained by copy paste-reduce-sharpen.

yes that's a bit better for some of it

i try "copy-paste-soften-reduce-sharpen" and it looks good.
i'll keep this way for soldiers but i tried to sharpen some WW2
vehicules too... i dislike the resultat.
i've "sharpen" some of the soldiers and had 3-4 more soldiers to the zip file.

The new units look most excelent!

                  You should shrapen the rest.

My real method for unit reduction:

copy
paste
remove background
recolor (where needed)
repaint/remove fine detail tune lighting
reduce
sharpen
trim aliasing
copy and paste 10 times
combine the 10 copies together (removes remaining aliasing)
shadow
done
plait-il ? ...

                    hmmm riiiight...
                    but i don't want to spend 1 hour/units !
i use freehand selection to "cute" the units only
                    i adjust brightness(-)/contrast(+) the "clipboard"
                    i soften it
                    i reduce it
                    i sharpen it
                    then i definitively paste it
                    i removed some "background"pixel
                    take me 2-3 min/unit

The process above takes about 20 minutes using Corel Draw 10. It would take much longer in any other software.

I usuallly spend 3 to 4 hours on an image. Sometimes much longer. I'm a perfectionist, but I think the results are worth it. For example, my avatar (to the left) took about 16 hours total.

20 minutes that's to much time spend for me but...
... 3-4 hours for ONE unit ?... and 16 hours for your avatar?

Alas, there is no treatment for perfectionism.
