    <a href="http://www.sidgames.com/hosted/ziggurat/files/scenarios/stleo_impamb.zip">Imperial Ambition Beta</a>

    Introductory Blurb

^In 1492, Spain sufferred a crushing defeat at the hands
^of the puny forces of the Emirate of Granada. France
^declared war immediately and by 1500 the continent was
^aflame. Only three principalities noticed an event of
^equal importance ignored by everyone else.
    ^
^In that fateful year India & Japan were reached by a
^man whose name was lost to history. Instead of circum-
^navigating Africa as the Portuguese were doing before
^being pulled into the Spanish War, he sailed across
^the watery expanse that is the Atlantic and reached
    ^the Orient...
    ^
^Venice has fallen on hard times with the rise of the
^hostile Ottoman and Mamluke powers in the ports of the
    ^Near East.
    ^
^The Teutonic Knights have lost their sense of purpose
^now that the Far North is lacking in heathens and are
    ^losing land to the Poles.
    ^
^The Hafsid Caliphate in North Africa seems ready to
    ^crumble.

-impamb.exe generates the events.txt, so running it first is a good idea
-I hope its playable (& fun), but I haven't tested the unit balance all that far into the scenario

I have one or two questions that I'd like answered

Should I change city density in Americas and North Africa?
Should I also make Europe less dense?
Does Independent ownership of the Maya make the game unbalanced?
Are there any useless tech branches?
Should I add any particular events to spice things up?
Perhaps events that will make things easier for the small-country AIs are needed?
Is the game winnable for the human player?
                Are there overly-powerful/overly-wimpy units?
Should I change the "Age" category of techs to distribute the icons more evenly?
Are multiple event files needed to update the random units given to the AI?

Did you like anything other than the graphics?

P.S. Is there only one person willing to beta-test it? I am pretty sure this scenario appeals to both people who liked FictAm and people who like colonization scenarios.

Hmmh, I download it too, but I have a lot to do (redesign CivII.de, beta-testing BeBros german Version of his Rome-scn and an other Scn ... and so on). I love colonization-like scns and if you are intrested in, I try to comment some points, but beta-test is to much.

So I should stop calling these "Beta" tests? Cool, from this point on this is a "Play" test.

Sorry for being very late in posting this, Leo...

I have one or two questions that I'd like answered
Should I change city density in Americas and North Africa?
No, i think it's pretty adequate

Should I also make Europe less dense?
It depends... but i think eastern Europe should be represented with less cities.

Does Independent ownership of the Maya make the game unbalanced?
I never played with Independent. Will check soon.

Are there any useless tech branches?
                            It seems me not...

Should I add any particular events to spice things up?
You kidding? It's a catfight with AI...

Perhaps events that will make things easier for the small-country AIs are needed?
                            No...

Is the game winnable for the human player?
                            Yes...

                            Are there overly-powerful/overly-wimpy units?
                            No.

Should I change the "Age" category of techs to distribute the icons more evenly?
                            No.

Are multiple event files needed to update the random units given to the AI?
Don't know what to reply, StLeo... maybe no.

                              Excellent, someone liked it.

Does Independent ownership of the Maya make the game unbalanced?
I never played with Independent. Will check soon.

I meant "Do the Independents become too powerful later on?"
