  • Could someone please help with an error message

I'm working on a scenario of the battle of the Atlantic, and have come across an error message stopping me accessing any saved games in the scenario folder. If anyone could tell me how to fix it I'd be greatful.

At a first glance it looks as though there was a missing comma in Rules.txt right there (boldfaced):

    Destroyer, Rob, 2, 9., 0, 12a, 8d, 2h, 2f, 10, 0,2, SE, 000000000000001

      Thanks- that's done the trick.

Now I just need to figure out why every single square on the map is half grey.

You might be using the wrong gray in your terrain1.gif, it is supposed to be the last color in the pallete, if it is going to be interpreted as transperent by the game.

The best way to fix the half grey squares is either to change the last colour of the palette manually to something not occuring earlier in the palette, or, with Paint Shop Pro, loading the same palette used in UNITS.GIF (save that palette first), while saying "maintain indices".

If you wish to know why this happens, read my design tip on palettes at the Sleague.

If you've edited your coastline, EC, then that could also be the problem. A small mistake in those graphics can totally screw up the game map.

Make sure the coast and land bits in those little coastal pics match up somewhat with the old ones. That could be the problem....
