Which is the best Crusades scenario out there?

  • #2
There's pretty much nothing to make a scenario about when it comes to the Crusades. Overall, they were just a very small thorn in the side of the Islamic world.

Here's the only possible thing one can make a scenario about when it comes to the crusades - the reconquest of Constantinople by the Greeks after the imbecile crusaders conquered it. There are a lot of factions one can use(Serbia, Epirus, Nicaea, Trebizond, Latins, Bulgaria, Duchy of Athens, Venice, and the Turks) and there was a lot of heavy fighting.

Mine isn't-although it was very popular in the community of the largest german civ2 site, where it was a scenario of the month-my first and only one!

While Leo is right, revisiting history is the fun of historical scenarios. What if the invaders had made more headway? I think there is a need for a good crusades scenario. The hard part would be how to represent the European powers back home while preventing them from fighting there.

I got it. Kinda. I think that the point of Otto's post was to make a Crusades scenario in 1000 BC, instead of 1000 AD.

Keep trying! Your english is better than my finnish...

                              Hello, all you guys

I remember some (just a few... ) scenarios directly or farly connected with Crusades (I won't tell about Civ2 CD crusades one...)

                              1.Cross & Crescent (BeBro) - 955 -1291
                              2.Outremer (don't remember) - ab. 1187-1200
                              3.Komnenai (M Czew - Heresson?) (ab.1080-1200)
4.Age of Alexius (Masis Panos?) (ab.1080-1120)
5.Death&Resurrection of an Empire (Mathias Koster)-(1204-1453)
                              6.Fading Lights (Heresson) - Palaiologos dinasty (ab.1260-1453)
                              7.The Great Crusades
                              8.Holy Wars (David Morovan)
                              9.Four Sea Republic (Paul Hanti) 1000-1500 (...)
10.Empire of Thessalonike JUST RELEASED (Varwnos)- hist/fict
11."SchwerterChristi": german-language hist/fict scen, mostly based on KnightOrders at the age of 6th crusade (I remember there was a crazy giga Cyprus island...)

I'm sure I forget someone, and I apologize just now.
I have reported this scenarios, all that I remember NOW, but I don't say about them, if good or bad. You can test and taste!

Ehm: I'm waiting for old scenario called "MAMLUK", (by Heresson, if I remember...). I imagine it has some connection with the last crusades (LouisIX and then the fall of Acri,ab 1248-1291).

Btw: in my improbable scenario projects (1000ideas,0facts...) ,I have something about Crusades (I like MiddleAge).

Have a good time you all!
