Just in time for the anniversary.

It looks great so far, Darth! The nebelwerfers in particular are nice new additions.

Aha. I like the changes. Darth, it was very good especially to change the text around a little so you avoid the feel of "I've done this before." The fact of Montgommery told about the attack over a game of golf was very amusing.

                        Some notes on the changes:
                        1. The increase allied POW cost: Darn you Darth. Now you've made it impossible to leave a city completely defenseless in good conscience. Evil!

                        2. The increased defenses around Wiltz and St. Vith: I still took Wiltz before the end of Dec. 16th, avoiding the roads being cut, and I should be able to get into St. Vith at the usual time in the 17th as well, the allied POWs in the forest didn't slow me down too much.

Looks to be a fun battle though...

Well I guess I didn't have time to properly playtest this so I'll do any tweaks depending on the generals' reports.

Hi all, merry christmas, happy new year!

In Herbstnebel 2.0, the offensive goes on, plans have been shaken up quite a bit but at least the panzers are still rolling (courtesy of US quartermasters...).

I am now december 22nd, 3AM and the Bastogne-Kessel has just been broken by elements of the 4th Armored, 712th Tank Bat., supported by the 274th Armored Field Artillery Battalion and 2 Engineer Combat Groups. Of course inside the Kessel, the 101st Airborne's heroic resistance and fierce counter attacks helped alot in this feat of arms.

The area around Baraque de la Fraiture sees our SS clinging to the few buildings there as US reinforcements meant to retake St. Vith attack relentlessly. Still, we pour reinforcements for the Bastogne area through there.

The Malmedy area sees only little german progress, the crucial crossroads north of Poteau are now defended by survivors of the 106th Infantry Div and the 81st Engr. Combat Group. These are hardened veterans of the St. Vith defense...Elsenborn was finally taken last night, but the momentum is definetly lost with von Rundstedt ordering the best units southward to support the drive toward Bastogne and ultimately the Meuse River.

The southern flank in Luxembourg is also endangered as units arriving from Alsace are appearing in great numbers. One incursion by an armoured combat patrol was barely held off at Vianden! The remnants of our Luftwaffe now operate here under the cover of darkness.

It's a blast, thanx alot Kobayashi!

                            PS:

The howling sound at night should represent a wolf? There were none left in the Ardennes since the beginning of the 20th century.

Some places look really large, but were only a few farms n'barns in reality.

Strange graphic for a Nebelwerfer after switching to dec 22 3AM:

                            Ceteram Macedonicus
(got the 'Macedonicus' part as a title for playtesting Bernd's Imperium Romanum)
