Gentlemen (and Ladies if there are any around),

I have an idea. I have a somewhat historical scenario sitting on my hard drive that is 90% done with semi original (and new) stuff for the graphics.

It's about the fall of the Roman Empire 160AD - 1000AD. I've named it "Twilight Empire". I could have released it a long time ago but I hate to release things that are, well, half-assed. Or in this case 90%-assed.

So my idea. I'm going to post the files in this thread and give them free to all so that the culminated brain power of all the diehard Civ2 fans can be used.

I will say again. Here are the files. Make this scenario better. Work together. Use all of your skills and make this something we can all be proud of.

Oh, and have some fun too.

The Zip can be found below.

      Re: Open Scenario

BTW, why not post this on Case's dead scenario site? This is what he made it for.

I am curently creating one for the Roman empire (228AD-1453AD).

          Called "Vae Victis".

BTW where did you get those units from? They look cool.

Civ 3. They're reduced, recolored, and then overlapped for the army effect. I think they look OK.

Well, knowing that there is plenty of the usual out there I tried to make this one a little bit hard to win. The Romans are handicapped by a weak defense unit in all their cities, plus the Germanic tribes have an exponential factor thrown in where killing one unit can create many others. The Persians have a large standing army, plus even the Arabs get a few event created bonuses throughout the scenario.

The scenario has some good things. I did want to make the Germanic tribes somewhat like they were in real life, with no structured cities (or cities at all), so I only gave them their obligatory one. I have events that create units throughout Greater Germany and Eastern Europe.

It's supposed to be played on Deity level too.

OK, you go and make a mind-bendingly original scenario, then come back and make remarks at our creators.

Such a frivilous attitude is bad for the community.

                      No more of that!
